Alaska Kenai river Fishing Report – Alaska Sockeye Salmon Fishing

Date: August 1, 2012

ALASKA SOCKEYE FISHING GOOD to EXCELLENT in the LOWER and MIDDLE KENAI RIVER

Find a good gravel bar and check your tide book, as the Alaska Sockeye come in on the high tides. Allow 3 or 4 hours for them to travel up into the Lower River. Use a good 7 or 8 foot rod and reel. Be certain to use a 30# test leader and #4 hooks. Position a 5/8 oz. sinker approximately 6 feet up from your hook. Attach any color yarn to the hook – to make it legal.
